A little about me
Who am I?
My name is Alex Goodall and I am the owner of AJG Sports Massage! I have a passion for helping people and working hard! When I'm not working, I like to unwind by going to the gym, playing football and watching the mighty Derby County. Up the Rams!
My Education
I have always had an interest for sports science even before university! My post school education started where I completed a blended course playing football at the Long Eaton Academy whilst completing a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports Science. It was at this point in my life where I was introduced to sports therapy due to injuries from playing football all the time and released how much it was helping me. From then on, I released how I could use sports therapy to help other people and my journey began... After this I studied Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation for 3 years at The University of Derby achieving a 2:1, whilst also completing my Level 3 Sports Massage alongside my degree.
Experience
Pre graduation I helped to run a student led clinic treating university students for free whilst also gaining valuable experience within the sports therapy world. Also, I completed my work experience with Liam Wright at The Elite Performance Clinic where I got to experience how therapy works in the real world with clients with actual injuries instead of made-up university scenarios!
Post graduation I was recommended and hired as Lead 1st Team Sports Therapist at Mickleover FC where I worked for a season looking after both match days & rehabilitation sessions at training. Here I made some great contacts & experience working with previous Head Physiotherapist at Derby County Neil Sullivan who helped me to improve as a sports therapist with his wealthy in experience. Now alongside running AJG Sports Massage I also work as SnapFitness Swadlincote’s Sports Therapist, where I provide 6 free 30-minute sessions
